| The USCG Auxiliary was
created by Congress in 1939 as an all volunteer citizen group
which would support the US Coast Guard. Our missions include
teaching public boating safety classes, public outreach,
assisting with search and rescue missions, and participation in
America's Waterway Watch program. In addition we help
protect the environment of our coastal regions.
Panama City Beach, Florida's Flotilla 19
is very proud to be part of a network of 30,000+ all volunteer
lifesavers. Serving Bay County and its surrounding
waterways Flotilla 19 conducts many missions in public boating
safety and public outreach through both boating classes and
appearances with "Coastie" the safety boat.
Flotilla members are trained in boating skills
and seamanship so they can conduct patrols for a variety of
mission purposes. Missions may include search and rescue,
monitoring aids to navigation, water sampling and waterway
watch.
Flotilla 19 is located at the U S Coast Guard,
Station Panama City which is co-located on the Naval Support
Activity Panama City. The base also houses the law
enforcement agency of Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission. The
Auxiliary works as a team with the USCG and FWC to promote safe
boating and the protection of our water ways and
resources. Meeting are held on the 3rd Wednesday of every
month. We begin with a social which includes a meal at 1800
hours (6:00PM). Food is prepared by one of the flotilla
members. The meeting begins promptly at 1900 (7:00 P.M.).
We invite anyone interested in learning more about the Flotilla
and our missions to attend our meetings. If interested in
coming to a meeting please contact one of the Flotilla's
officers. Contact information is located on the Flotilla
Officers page. We're proud to have been the
recipients of the "Most Outstanding Flotilla"
in District 8, Coastal Region which includes all of New Mexico,
Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, southern half of Alabama, the
Florida Panhandle and the southwestern corner of Georgia.
We invite you to become a part of our exciting and effective all
volunteer lifesaving team.
