| The Public Affairs mission of the USCG Auxiliary
has many parts. One very important part is the
"Spreading of the word." Or as we like to say,
"Telling the story. Countless times we have heard,
"I didn't know anything about this group."
To tell the story well, we rely on our friends in the media.
Here in Bay County we are very fortunate to have the support of
our newspapers, radio and television stations. With their
help we are spreading the word, telling and showing the
Auxiliary and the Flotilla's story.
Another very import piece is our public outreach
programs. Getting our message across face-to-face by
presenting the safe boating and America's Water Way Watch
message to civic, school, and club groups is one way to promote
safe boating practices. Helping citizens to become more
aware of how to watch our water ways for suspicious activity and
how to safely report to the US Coast Guard keeps all of us
safer.
Your group may request to have presentation on the following
topics by contacting FSO-PA, Patti
Fritchie.
Topics may include but are not limited to:
America's Water Way Watch
Boating Safety for Children
Hypothermia Even in Warm Climates
What is Auxiliary and What do They Do
Membership in the Auxiliary
Environmental Protection of St. Andrews Bay
Marine Safety
You may also request a visit from our Safety Boat, Coastie,
for your special event.
